The Loud Silence…

She proposes to him,
In inaudible words,
Just hands in hands,
And looking at the horizon.

Her eyes expectant,
His eyes reluctant,
Palms emanating heat,
The heat of love

But he didn’t say a word,
He wasn’t supposed to,
He didn’t want to confront too,
The unsure self to her

The words were never spoken,
The eyes considered misleading,
Unsure of feelings the other had,
Unsure of the future it held

“Will he accept me?”,
“Will she accept me?”,
Only questions in mind,
While holding the hands.
