Noble Prize auctioned…

Well! Well! Well! Don’t be surprised if tomorrow morning you come to know that Lalu Prasad Yadav, Mayawati, Manishankar
Ayyar or some MLA or most surprisingly YOU get the Noble for Peace. Don’t ask me “What on the earth I am saying” because
Noble Peace Prize is on auction. Recently US President Barack Obama got it, so why can’t you get it?
This is really insane that US president who has barely made 37 weeks in the office and haven’t done any substantial or material
thing other than stating that World needs peace and I am going to work on making the World a Nuclear Free place (This world
will contain every nation other than US). If just declaring things like “I am working on making this world a better place to live”
gets you a Noble prize then why Indian politicians are kept away from receiving Noble for Peace? Our Indian leaders are saying
things like “We won’t initiate attack on Pakistan”, “If an attack comes from Pakistan side we would retaliate”, but not to mention
that when an attack comes from Pakistan side we don’t do anything more than saying “We condemn the attack from Pakistan”.
So doesn’t this stand in line for getting Noble for Peace or any other category?
One question that came in my mind after hearing the news that Barack Obama got the Noble for Peace is, is Noble Peace (or any
other category for that matter) so cheap? I think Noble Prize has lost its credibility. Anyone with influential or monetory power
can get Noble prize. Getting Noble prize has just becoming as simple as getting some Filmfare or some other local prize.
Now considering the fact that Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Ravindranath Tagore and likes of people have received this
Noble Prize in the past, is it commendable that a person like Barack Obama who hasn’t proved anything to the World yet gets a
Noble prize? He is yet to prove his mettle and just saying doesn’t mean he has proved. Saying something is very much easy than
doing it. I guess nobody should be surprised in the future if Pakistan Ex-chief Parvez Musharraf, Osama Bin Laden or any other
terrorist or conman gets a Noble.
I hereby declare that I am not satisfied with the work the Noble Committee has done by giving Peace prize to Barack Obama.
It could have been a fair deal if Obama had proved anything. If he does something positive and proves his statement by making
this world a better place than now, then it’s ok to confer him something dignified thing like Noble.
Noble committee has brought shame to people like Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King by conferring this award to Barack Obama.
Because these people have proved themselves over the years and not just over the Weeks.

Just some time after this Noble Prize was announced I went through BBC site and read this comment from Paul Reynolds. I am posting that comment here for you people.

Paul Reynolds
BBC News, London

The award is certainly unexpected and might be regarded as more of an encouragement for intentions than a reward for achievements. After all, the president has been in office for a little over eight months and he might hope to serve eight years. His ambition for a world free of nuclear weapons is one that is easier to declare than to achieve and a climate control agreement has yet to be reached.

Indeed, the citation indicates that it is President Obama’s world view that attracted the Nobel committee – that diplomacy should be founded “on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world’s population”.

Ganges clean by 2020, a proposal by NGRBA India…

No Untreated waste to flow in Ganga by 2020.
a) Why government waited for this long considering the fact that sewage disposal and treatment plant requires 10 years to
come into existense? Ganga was polluted before also. Ganga is victim of pollution and waste disposal
since long time, then why government waited for this long to form National Ganga River Basin Authority (NGRBA) for solving
Ganga pollution problem.
b) Now NGRBA has asked central government to provide them with 1000 MW of FREE power (electricity), why?
You have necessary funds at your disposal. Moreover if you (NGRBA) fall short of some cash you can always raise the funds
from market by floating an IPO or simply some relief fund kind of thing. As Ganga is our National River (which has been
declared in LAST November, thats Nov 2008, I mean what took them so long to declare that and take some action on keeping
Ganga clean or for that matter every river clean?) You should not be asking central government for any freebies.
c) This proposal of cleaning Ganga off wastage and pollution is good, but this proposal should go much deeper than only Ganga.
Every Indian river is ailing with pollution and wastage problem. When Government is planning to clean every river? India is
facing a very serious problem of water shortage in almost every city. Considering the fact that our rivers are more nullahs than
rivers and carry more waste than water, it needs huge investment to purify that water and supply for domestic use. So why not clean
them and use them as resources for providing water to every city and town in the country? Government should undertake that
project also as soon as possible.
d) No doubt, better late than never, Government has woke up to the fact that Indian rivers are getting polluted. But as we all
know that Indian Government is inefficient of executing anything, it will be interesting and important to see for how long the
NGRBA works in line for Ganga cleaning. It will be better if Government really follows the proposal to the exact deadlines,
unlike what’s happening in Delhi prior to CommonWealth Youth Games 2010.Project

Project:                                         Cleaning of river Ganga by 2020

Project Inception:                Still in the nascent stage.

Project planned:                    In October 2009

Project Cost estimated:    Rs. 250 crore.

Project Deadline:                  By 2020

Further process:                   A plan will be devised for cleaning the Ganga and will be presented by NGRBA.

Yes, the river Ganga is about to get clean and purified or rather Industrial wastes will not be left in Ganga anymore after 2020. But I don’t know why so late onto deciding such a critical issue? I have some doubts and questions to be asked and those are as follows:

a) Why government waited for this long considering the fact that sewage disposal and treatment plant requires 10 years to come into existense? Ganga was polluted before also. Ganga is victim of pollution and waste disposal  since long time, then why government waited for this long to form National Ganga River Basin Authority (NGRBA) for solving Ganga pollution problem.

“Contradiction”…

Swine Flu.

Swine Flu - Mask

Swine Flu has been making news since almost two months now. After various news flashes all over the world of this disease taking lives, the disease has been declared as “Pandemic” Disease. Born in Mexico and affecting whole of the world through a virus born in swine, has made India its home now.

First death from Swine flu has happened in Pune, and Pune has become more of a birth place than Mexico. Pune and Bangalore being worst hit, Mumbai and other metropolitan cities with some other small cities are also making news with this virus.

But I have spotted some contradictions in its spread. When Swine flu virus first came in India, nobody was prepared for it and that itself was the very big mistake. I met with an Ayurvedic Doctor just after 3-4 days of introduction of Swine Flu in India. I wanted to know the spreading pattern and some indications of Swine Flu. The discussion moved to another level with me asking him, how can we stop this or rather whom this virus will not affect. He replied,"Those who are having good immune system and resistance power will not get affected by this kind of virus or rather any virus. We have so many virus flying in front of our nose daily, but do we get sick everyday?" So there is no need to panic and just follow some rules in day to day life. Use a mask with Camphor or Eucalyptus oil spread in it. Such strong odours keep these viruses away.

I further asked him, how to make our immune system strong and gain more resistance power? He replied “Eat lots of fruits, drink distilled water, wash your hands regularly with soap and avoid going in crowded places” etc etc.

But I sighted a contradiction there. Slum dwellers don’t follow such rules, moreover they don’t get to eat proper food forget about fruits and all healthy diets. On the other hand, apartment dwellers get all those costly fruits and dietary foods. But still Swine flu has NOT affected the slum dwellers but the rich ones. Why is that?

This might be due to the fact that slum dwellers have strong resistance to such mean things plus their immune system is pretty strong as compared to rich people. This point can be proved by following example. If both rich person and slum dweller get drenched in the rain, apartment dweller catches cold quickly but a slum dweller withstands it. So I guess its about immunity and a mental thing too. If you fear of something, you will feel that you have caught that thing. Also the slum dwellers face these flu and cold every now and then, and have to withstand it as medical assistance is rejected because of no money. So by facing such things regularly their body also becomes impervious to such things. And that might be the reason why these people are spared.

But let me clear one thing, whatever I have said above is not full proof. I mean it is not guaranteed that slum dwellers won’t catch Swine Flu ever. They can also catch the disease but surely in a lower percentage.

My main point of writing all this here is, “Don’t panic to this swine flu, take due care and you will be spared. Adding to this, I will also tell that do Yoga, Pranayam and keep yourself fit. Increase your immunity by any means and may God keep you away from this pandemic.”
