Tragedies, Human and God…

Remember last time you said “Why this pain?”

Yea, sounds like you thought about this just some time before, right?

We have this knack of questioning God’s existence. Accepted that you can’t prove his existence, but then you can’t deny it too. Also, man has this habit of writing off all the credit of his success to his name and all the failures to God’s.

Some question, why there is pain if God is there. And I smile at their childish question. Well is it like if God is there your life is supposed to be all fairy tales? Let me ask you a corollary to it. If God is not there, then why isn’t your life complete hell then? Isn’t your life a balance of beauty and hell? Don’t you get happy moments along with those sad ones?

I have one rational theory behind the tragedies or pain that befalls on us.

Tragedies bring people together, who otherwise wouldn’t have come together.

Consider various live examples in front of us. There have been numerous tragedies in Mumbai (or Bombay, whatever you call it). And you see people flocking in and pooling their efforts to save the victims of the tragedy.

Many a times I have seen it on Twitter, when it rains in Mumbai and roads are water logged, people tweet saying “I am travelling by so and so road. If anyone wants a ride home, hop in”.

Hadn’t it been for tragedy, would you have considered tweeting that? Would you ask someone, besides your friends, to hop in while on way home?

It’s another thing that soon after the meet, we forget about the person who helped you and whom you helped. That was an opportunity to be a human being to another human, and you lose it by not keeping in contact.

Coming back to the point, what I mean is, pain or tragedy comes in our life intermittently just for reminding us that your life cannot be all hunky dory all the time. You lose someone close to you, to learn how to live a life independently. Yea, this is a harsh way to teach things to us, but then that’s the way it is handled.

Because we don’t listen to a lecture if it is free of cost. But when we pay for it, we try to grab every word spoken by the orator.

And as far as God’s reference in this post is concerned, I strongly believe in God. Not the way a priest might believe in, but in more rational way. His presence has simply been brought into existence because we wanted some point, whereto we could stare and find the calmness we want in those anxious moments.

And the pain you suffer is bound to be that way. You are bound to suffer because of your deeds. God neither bring the pain to your life nor does he take it away from your life.

Woes of A Father…

He pulled the kid close to him. There was an urge of a father in pulling the kid. The kid too willingly went into the arms of that person and hugged him till his small hands could reach. The man held the kid with one hand and maneuvered the road blocking rod with other hand. He uses the spot under the tree shadow to make himself safe from beaming Sun rays and dry heat.

The kid was now trying to get rid of from the clutches of that man and run or move wildly on the road. And the man saw danger in it as he was blocking the internal road from the main road, and if the boy runs of main road he might hurt himself. But the kid was oblivious to the facets of manic traffic on the road and etiquettes to follow.

While trying to keep the kid in the clutches the expression on father’s face changed. It was clear from his expressions that he was feeling proud as well as worried about the child’s future. Proud for the reason that the kid found himself as a student in some local playschool and worried because he earned meager salary to fulfill the household necessities and his child’s education. Proud because he felt he is doing the right thing by working hard and earning money for his family. He is treading the right path and has not involved himself in some wrong ways of earning money. This was his hard work’s money, but worried because his daily job was to guard the internal road from main road traffic. He was now thinking, when my son grows and goes to school, will telling my job profile bring shame in him??

Identity Crisis…

Really a huge problem in front of we people right now. What’s your real identity? Do you know the real thing about yourself? Does your close ones know the real identity of yours?

There are umpteenth number of occasions when we suffer of this “Identity Crisis”. Do you get anything in your head burning? Can you think of a situation that has happened in your life where you felt the Identity Crisis?

Well, how about following example?

Suppose you are out of your house and someone who looks exactly the same with similar habits and behavior comes in your home. Some time after you come back and see yourself sitting in the couch. Upon questioning his origin and authenticity he cross-questions you asking the same things and you feel how am I gonna prove my closed ones that I am the real person and this one is fake?

Does your parents know something special about yourself that the others may not know. Because when such person tries to infiltrate your family life, they come well prepared and you better pull your socks up and think what’s unique about you and yes, your family should know about this uniqueness.

Well, the situation may seem filmy here, but let me tell you that however filmy such things happen in our lives. These occasions may not be the exact replica of what I have portrayed above, but the gist is the same. The story holds it’s plot though the characters differ.

When we fail somewhere down the line, make some mistake at some point or don’t get what we deserve, we sit dejected and lonesome. That time this “Identity Crisis” peeks its head up. You start thinking

a) Who am I?

b) What’s my identity?

c) What’s my forte?

These questions coming in our mind indicates the “Identity Crisis”. This thing happens with each and everyone. And the need of knowing some unique characteristics of yourself come handy at this point. The relatives or family in the consideration will be your mind and yourself will ultimately depict your body.

So in such an emergency, your mind should know what’s that uniqueness that will distinguish between you and your dummy. So always keep in mind

a) Who am I?

b) What’s my identity, and

c) What’s my forte?

before falling prey to “Identity Crisis”.

People and their driving sense…

Ahead of Commonwealth Games 2010, Delhi is buzzing with various infrastructure developments (only Delhi Government knows how many of those infrastructure development programs are meant for infrastructure development and how many for internal corruption and wallet filling). The development seems to be much sluggish than a tortoise walking on the beaches. Constructions have only started but the end seems no where. May be the development will end either on the date of commencement of Commonwealth Games or after the games get over. Similarly the traffic regulation and people’s driving sense seems to have gone for a vacation on some other planet (may be on Moon as Chandrayan and other space shuttles have discovered water on the Moon).

The traffic all over India is unregulated. Traffic Polices are only for a show off and for jacking money from people. But they don’t seem to regulate the traffic. They don’t even try for regulation. People also follow the similar notes. Vehicles are provided with Upper and Dipper beams so as to facilitate people in night driving. These facilities are provided for use only. But people don’t use the dipper beam and ply with upper beams only, even though that upper beam obstructs the vision of the person coming from the other side.

Similar incidence happened with me (though it happens on a regular intervals with me) recently. A person was driving a jeep and on a narrow road we came head to head. He was focussing upper beam only. So I flashed upper and dipper consecutively so as to suggest him that lower your beam as I am not able to see anything. But he refused to lower the beam. What I could have possibly done other than cursing that man. I tried to tell him to ply the vehicle on dipper and use upper when necessary, but in vain.

Delhi Government has announced a new program wherein they will educate the Delhites on proper driving rules and practices. But I doubt how useful that will be. But there is no harm in trying things out. Delhi Government and P. Chidambaram (Home Minister of India) stressed out that Germany and China have done the same thing before hosting such big events. The education program in Germany and China were successful because people there think for their nation and feel dejected if someone from outside blames their country. But that’s not the same with Indians. We Indians have lost pride in our country. And that’s the reason we are facing issues like corruption, ill-politics etc. (the list will go on and on).
