Tragedies, Human and God…

Remember last time you said “Why this pain?”

Yea, sounds like you thought about this just some time before, right?

We have this knack of questioning God’s existence. Accepted that you can’t prove his existence, but then you can’t deny it too. Also, man has this habit of writing off all the credit of his success to his name and all the failures to God’s.

Some question, why there is pain if God is there. And I smile at their childish question. Well is it like if God is there your life is supposed to be all fairy tales? Let me ask you a corollary to it. If God is not there, then why isn’t your life complete hell then? Isn’t your life a balance of beauty and hell? Don’t you get happy moments along with those sad ones?

I have one rational theory behind the tragedies or pain that befalls on us.

Tragedies bring people together, who otherwise wouldn’t have come together.

Consider various live examples in front of us. There have been numerous tragedies in Mumbai (or Bombay, whatever you call it). And you see people flocking in and pooling their efforts to save the victims of the tragedy.

Many a times I have seen it on Twitter, when it rains in Mumbai and roads are water logged, people tweet saying “I am travelling by so and so road. If anyone wants a ride home, hop in”.

Hadn’t it been for tragedy, would you have considered tweeting that? Would you ask someone, besides your friends, to hop in while on way home?

It’s another thing that soon after the meet, we forget about the person who helped you and whom you helped. That was an opportunity to be a human being to another human, and you lose it by not keeping in contact.

Coming back to the point, what I mean is, pain or tragedy comes in our life intermittently just for reminding us that your life cannot be all hunky dory all the time. You lose someone close to you, to learn how to live a life independently. Yea, this is a harsh way to teach things to us, but then that’s the way it is handled.

Because we don’t listen to a lecture if it is free of cost. But when we pay for it, we try to grab every word spoken by the orator.

And as far as God’s reference in this post is concerned, I strongly believe in God. Not the way a priest might believe in, but in more rational way. His presence has simply been brought into existence because we wanted some point, whereto we could stare and find the calmness we want in those anxious moments.

And the pain you suffer is bound to be that way. You are bound to suffer because of your deeds. God neither bring the pain to your life nor does he take it away from your life.

Disclaimer: This is a true story and sorry in advance for writing a bit long one. But I hope you find this interesting and helpful.

Swami Narayan (1781 - 1830)

Some days back I was in “Akshardham Temple” in Delhi. On a big screen they were showing life story of Swami Narayan (an eminent saint in India in early 1800). The incident was like Swami Narayan at the age of 11 was sitting under one tree. The village was well known for visit of a man eating Lion and everyone used to hide in their homes before it gets dark.

That day Swami Narayan was also asked to come inside home before the lion comes. Swami Narayan denied to hide in the house and stayed under the tree. Lion came after some time but instead of eating Swami he obeyed his orders and calmly sat just like a dog would listen to his master’s orders.

People asked them the other morning,

“Don’t you fear?”

“I left the fear when I left my home. Don’t be afraid of anything. If you fear, nothing will work according to your wish. Dare to leave the fear behind you. Dare to think positively at life and you will see difference.

This is the essence of Indian Philosophy and Spirituality. Indian scriptures have always advised to be bold and have positive approach towards life. Leave the feeling of fear aside and you will see wonders happening. We fear a lot of so many things. But never think of daring and doing.

Even though the practical implementation of making a lion follow your orders is not possible for us, because we are not so much pure for nature to listen to our orders, but practicing spiritual path of truth, righteousness, honesty and humanity is very much possible even today. Follow the simple laws of living and you will see lot of difference in your lives.

Abstract Thought…

Hello World.

This is has been a real real long time that I have blogged something. Because of my schedule I am not able to cope up with thinking and writing at the same spur of moment. But still I am jotting down the thoughts, so as to make up good articles in coming future.

Today’s post is about abstract thoughts and what everyone makes out of the statement. I guess, we all have come across some abstract thoughts at least once in a while. But that thought to one person means something else to other. Why does such thing happen? Because whatever we think, we have some sort of history behind that thought. That’s why the perception changes.

We have seen in many aptitude tests, that presenter asks a question “what will you say if I ask you to tell me about this black dot”? The black dot is just a pen nib’s touch on the cheeks of white board. But what one person perceives about that black dot can be drastically different from other. Similarly, abstract painting also is living on the same notion. Of Perception.

Today I am gonna pitch in a statement, which is an abstract one. And you guys reply me back quoting what you think about the statement. How do you perceive? The statement is as follows:

“To be able to keep the inner doors open, one should learn to keep the outer doors closed.”

Post your replies, pitch in with some extravagant thoughts and ideas 🙂
