Not everything is fair,
In this game of life,
But don’t point at it,
With a grudged knife
* * *
Some run ahead,
Some will be behind,
Don’t let the envy,
Clutter your mind
* * *
Look at the shanties,
Dream of high rise, but
Don’t let pomp get you,
In pride’s disguise
* * *
Cherish the good,
Distance the bad,
Some things will hurt,
But don’t be too sad
* * *
Karma is the cause,
Time is the answer,
On this grand stage,
We are just a dancer.

“Don’t let pomp get you/In pride’s disguise.” I’m learning how self-confidence is the opposite of pride lately, so this really speaks to me. Thank you.

We are, indeed, the dancer. We are not the choreographer. Thank you for stating it so beautifully. 🙂
